This week Sarah sits down with Emilie to talk about her experiences as a momma and step-mom. Emilie shares with us her traumatic birth experience, including multiple times she and the baby almost lost their lives. Emilie and Sarah talk all things motherhood and get into some very important topics, like the importance of mental health in new moms. Emilie also discusses her big decision to leave her job and start her own company, focused on virtual assistance and event planning, allowing her more time with her family.

On this week’s episode Sarah sits down with Erin at her home to learn about her journey into becoming a momma and how that journey has evolved over the years. Erin is a mom to 4 boys, works full time managing a large team at a local grocery store, and embraces her love for birth as a part-time Doula. Erin shares about her experience of having 5 miscarriages, including 3 before her first son was born. Erin also takes us through what it is like having a child with neurodevelopmental differences like ADHD, sensory processing disorder and anxiety. Erin takes the approach of embracing her boys for who they are and sees how great they can be when you support them.

She shares how she was able to get through such a challenging time and find the strength to continue. Nina also walks us through her journey in business and what motivated her to write her first children's book.

Kori supports families in the Portland, Oregon area working for Women's Healthcare Associates at the beautiful Midwifery Birth Center. Kori and Sarah discuss the options of choosing the type of support for your birth, the advantages of a midwife and how the experience can differ between a traditional hospital birth. Kori shares her journey into becoming a midwife and lots of great information about the journey from planning, birth and postpartum support.
